Pure Black racing was the brainchild of former Americas cup sailer, Carl Williams. The first team Williams started was Bici Vida, with Pure Black being born out of that in 2010. The stated aim was to have the team in the Tour de France by 2015. Unfortunately, by 2012, the team was no longer.
It was a real shame, as some of the best NZ cyclists of their time, were part of the team.
For their tt bikes, the riders supplied their own wheels, hence on any pictures you may see of them, every bike will have different wheels……
