This bike, was built by local (Auckland) bike builder, amd Campagnolo aficionado , David Benson. David doesn’t build a lot of bikes, but the ones he does, are very sought after. This bike is for Peter Alexander, himself a bike builder (carbon fibre bikes). The tubing is Columbus Max, and the bike uses an ‘old school’ flat crown fork. The bike has been built for comfort, and long rides. A close look shows there are mudguard eyelets. Peter wasn’t looking to create a ‘retro’ bike as such, more a bike he could use all the time, was very comfortable, reliable, and of course was made from one of the (in my opinion) best steel tube sets!
Peter fitted the bike out with Campagnolo Record components, Ritchey handlebrs and stem, a Selle San Marco Regale saddle and Mavic wheels.
