Paint

They say that a good paint job can hide multiple sins- I prefer to say a stunning paint job compliments a stunning build.
Was this painted in a state of the art spray booth, with multiple heat lamps, extraction fans, and very expensive spray guns? No. It was painted by a passionate craftsman, in a plastic covered wooden frame (with a small extraction fan), in his garage. Sometimes, the best quality comes from the person who cares the most. The prep, the paint, the attention to detail when affixing decals etc, only comes from someone invested in their ‘art’ for what they want to achieve.
The craftsman in question, is Simon Bittle. I have known Simon for years, he and I were both restoring bikes, and like Simon, I started painting. But life got in the way, and as I opened the bike museum, and then the attached workshop, I no longer had time to paint. Simon, however, continued to hone his skills, to the point that I totally believe, his work is some of the best you will see, anywhere. This frame took more than a week of prep. The paint, and finishing work, another week plus. But the result, second to none. Click the ‘additional photos’ button, to see more shots of this incredible paint job.
